Estell Ray McClure, 89, of Terre Haute, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at Westminister Rehab Center. He was born Oct. 9. 1927, to Cecil and Jessie (Persinger) McClure, in Terre Haute. He married Joan (Furrer) McClure in June 22, 1946, and she preceded him in death Jan. 19, 2015.
He was an active minister for the Church of the Nazarene from 1957 until 2000 when he retired. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. He was minister at Georgetown Nazarene, Washington Nazarene, Odon Nazarene, Evansville Grace Nazarene, Tell City Nazarene, Terre Haute Eastside Nazarene, Terre Haute Southside Nazarene, Freedom Nazarene, Carbon Nazarene and Bloomfield Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his wife; granddaughter; parents; four sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis R. (Diane) McMclure in Washington and J. Mark McClure in Terre Haute; two daughters, Vivian E. (Darrell) Breeden of Bloomington and Kathy J. (Jim Ray) Malone of Odon; adopted daughter, Sherry Reed of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept, 26, 2017, at Southside Church of the Nazarene, Terre Haute, with the Revs. Eddie Hayes and Chris Wilbur officiating. Interment will be in Hull Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
