Dr. Rasik's Story

Dr. Rasik B. Ganatra, of Terre Haute, IN, beloved husband and father, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, while visiting family in India. He was 69 years old. Rasik grew up in Mandvi-Kutch, India, a beautiful beach town, and was the fourth of six siblings. In the early 1970's, he completed his medical degree from MS University in Baroda, and immigrated to America. He was the first in his family to arrive to the United States.
He completed his Radiology residency and training in New York and Pennsylvania. In 1975, he married Lata Ganatra, and the two raised their family in New York, Arizona and California. They later re-located to Terre Haute, Indiana, where Rasik was a practicing radiologist at Union Hospital for 15 years.
Rasik was extremely kind-hearted, compassionate, and touched many lives personally and professionally. He seamlessly connected with all, irrespective of their age or background, and was proudly dedicated to his career, colleagues and patients. Outside of work, he enjoyed traveling, tennis, photography, and singing spiritual and Indian folk songs. His family and friends will fondly remember his happy, humorous, loving, and easy-going nature.
Rasik is survived by his wife, Lata of Terre Haute; his son, Sanjeev of Tustin, CA; his daughter, Seema of Chicago, IL; his daughter-in-law, Nikita of Tustin, CA, and grandson, Sahil.
Funeral services were performed in India on February 18, 2018. A 'Celebration of Life' event is planned for him in Terre Haute, IN. The information is below:
Celebration of Life for Dr. Rasik B. Ganatra, 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018,The Ohio Building, 672 Ohio St., Terre Haute, IN 47807. Everyone whose life was touched by him is welcome, and RSVP will not be required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Union Health Foundation, 1606 N. 7th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804.
