Dorothy L. Pilant, 91, of Jasonville, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Shakamak Good Samaritan in Jasonville. She was born Jan. 28, 1926, to Otis Mullens and Leora Mullens (Snellenberger). Dorothy married Junior Pilant and who passed away on Dec. 19, 1999.
Survivors include her children, Judy Lang (Bob) of Jasonville, Jerry Pilant and friend (Bobbie Miller) of Worthington and Lee Pilant (Janice) of Jasonville; grandchildren, Robin Jones (Jon), Candi Hamilton (Brian), Brian Pilant (Karen), Laura Wadhwan (Kuldip), Christopher Pilant and Shannon Pilant; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sibling, Norma Bemis of Coalmont; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Floyd Mullens and Cecil Mullens; and five sisters, Nell Crist, Louise Kittle, Ressa Raley, Anna Muriel Shew and Carrie Pilant.
Dorothy graduated from Coalmont High School. She was homemaker and a member of the OES Lodge in Sullivan.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville. Visitation is scheduled from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Funeral services are Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Smith officiating. Interment will be at Walker Cemetery in Greene County.
