Doris M. Brashear, 91, of Robinson, Ill., passed away at 4:03 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at the Magnolia Center, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, following complications from pneumonia. Born in Prairie Township, Crawford County, Ill., on May 10, 1926, she was the daughter of Walter and Cinda Jane (Sims) Spawn. On Oct. 18, 1945, she married Graydon W. "Bill" Brashear and he preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1994.
Doris worked for a time in LaPorte, Ind., for Allis Chalmers Plant manufacturing war material. After marrying Graydon, she was a homemaker, staying home to raise a loving family. She was a member of the Porterville Congregational Christian Church. Her farm became a Centennial Farm on Nov. 20, 2017, purchased in 1901 by Doris' grandfather.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Nancy Brashear, Sullivan, Ind., and Todd and Teri Brashear, Marshall, Ill.; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Jim McKinney, Sullivan and Brenda and Jim Wolfe, Robinson; eight grandchildren, Ryan and Jamie Brashear, Carmel, Ind., Shawn and Chandra McKinney, Sullivan, Andrea and Matt Glowacki, Libertyville, Ill., Danielle and Josh Adams, Robinson, Travis and Natalie McKinney, Fairbanks, Ind., Tyler and Amber Brashear, Marshall, Trey and Bethany Brashear, Marshall, Tara and Skyler Low, Marshall; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Brashear, Lawrenceville, Ill.; and brothers-in-law, Jake Shonk, Robinson and Jim and Mercedes Brashear, LaPorte, Ind.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Graydon "Bill" Brashear in 1994.
Funeral service will be Monday March 5, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. CST at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, with Brother Jerry McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow funeral services in Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, Ill.
