Donald F. Cuiksa, 74, of West Terre Haute passed away Sunday July 30, 2017. He retired as the electrical superintendent from Alcan Aluminum in 2000, after 32 years of service. He was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Martin's Ferry, Ohio, to Frank A. Cuiksa and Helen Zorick Cuiksa.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nancy Marsh Cuiksa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Melissa Cuiksa and Michael and Wendy Cuiksa, all of Terre Haute; a daughter, Marcy Benefiel and her fiancé Jeff Boyd of Terre Haute; a sister, Karen Adkins and her husband Larry of Hollywood, Fla.; six grandchildren, Bethany Cuiksa of Las Vegas, Hannah Lynch (Dylan), Clay Cuiksa (girlfriend Maycie), Blake Benefiel, Logan Benefiel, and Megan Benefiel, all of Terre Haute; and a great-grandson, Ryan Cuiksa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Donnie Cuiksa.
He enjoyed working outside, feeding the humming birds, golfing, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He coached North Terre Haute Little League baseball and Vigo County Youth Football for many years.
A private service was arranged with burial in Roselawn Memorial Park. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or the Terre Haute Humane Society.
