Dianna's Story

Dianna R. Higgins, 71, of Terre Haute, passed away on June 9, 2018, at 10:28 p.m. in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She worked many years for the Terre Haute Housing Authority, caring for others.
Dianna was born in Terre Haute, the daughter of Norma J. (Creasey) Atkinson on Sept. 22, 1946. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Terry Higgins; her son, Richard Allen Hooper and fiancé, Lesli J. Stableton; former daughter-in-law, Laurie Moore; stepdaughters, Shannon Higgins, and Emmi Norris and husband, Everet of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Joshua A. Hooper, Chelsae N. Hooper and fiancé Scott Edwards, Steven C Hooper II, Kristin R. Hooper and her mother, Tina of Arkansas; step-grandchildren, Spencer and Caleb Poole, David Higgins, Lillyanna and Alexander Norris; and great-grandchildren, Oakley J. Edwards, Paxtyn G. Edwards, and Lilly Jo Hooper.
She is also survived by her brothers, Jerry Atkinson (Wanda), Dickie Atkinson (Jodi), George Atkinson Jr, David Atkinson (Teresa), Larry Atkinson (Tina), and Jackie Atkinson (Cherrie); her sisters, Sharon Kennedy (John) of Louisiana, Linda Fagg, Anita Atkinson (Mike Fagg), and Evelyn Thomas (Larry); an uncle, David Creasey Sr. and wife Shirley of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a special niece, Amber Jones.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma J. (Creasey) Atkinson; son, Steven C. Hooper; grandmother, Juanita Creasey; sister-in-law, Vicki Atkinson; aunt, Evelyn Riley, and cousin, Teddy Pomeroy.
