Deborah Kay Gordon, 64, of Brazil, passed away unexpectedly at her home, Nov. 1, 2017, due to complications of her diabetes. She was born Dec. 17, 1952, in Canton, Ill., the daughter of Roy and Betty MacDonald Jones. She was raised in central Illinois, and graduated from Farmington High School, class of 1971.
Debby's first and foremost priority has always been her family, a devoted mom who has raised her three children and has also had the joy of being Grandma Debby.
She moved to the Clay County area in 1984, first to Clay City, and then in 2002 she moved to Brazil. She had worked in the past for the Clay Community Schools as an instructional assistant at Northview, North Clay and Clay City. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cross-stitch projects in the past.
Survivors include her children, Chad Hedden (Katy) of Terre Haute, Craig Hedden (Lori) of Clinton and Tiffany Helms of Terre Haute; her mother, Betty Jones of Farmington, Ill.; grandchildren, Dana Hedden, Haley Hedden, Holly Hedden, Claire Hedden, Jacob Hedden, Grace Hedden, Luke Hedden, Rayce Collins, Ryker Collins and Cruz Helms; two sisters, Karen Wilcoxen (Terry) and Tina Jones Gordon; two brothers, Ron Jones (Judy) and Steve "Pete" Jones (Diane), all of central Illinois; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Gordon; and her father, Roy Jones.
