Darrell Baker, 68, of Crawfordsville, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 3017, at home after an extensive period of poor health. He was born May 15, 1949, in Terre Haute, to Gilbert and Charmon Jean Bush Orender.
He went to school in Terre Haute and attended Indiana State University, before enlisting in the US Air Force, where he served for 21 years. He received the outstanding unit award, good conduct medal and overseas service medal. He then worked for the US Postal Service in Lafayette, retiring in 2011.
Darrell married Victoria Clahan on Oct. 21, 2003, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Tina Kinberg of Terre Haute, Stacy Monce of Terre Haute, Michelle Baker of Yuma, Ariz., and James (Dawn) Baker of Lafayette; stepchildren, Jason (April) Stewart of Crawfordsville, Miriah (Jason) Mershon of Darlington, and Alissa (Anthony) Nicoson of Ladoga. He also has a brother, Barry Baker, and sister, Marsha Baker, both of Terre Haute; as well as 21 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Calvary Chapel in Crawfordsville.
