Darin Wayne Zellers, 50, of Shelburn, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017. He was born in Greene County, on March 31, 1967, to William "Butch" Zellers and Linda (Followell) Zellers Dickson.
Darin loved bowling in the Special Olympics, and had enjoyed the medals he had won; he was an avid sports fan having watched, read and discussed all events related to the game especially the Cubs. Darin was a member of the Briley Chapel Community Church.
Preceding him in death was his father; and his grandparents, Ezra (Doris) Followell, and William (Ruby) Zellers.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Linda and Raymond Dickson of Shelburn; a brother, Aaron (Anita) Zellers of Shelburn; sister, Karen Caddell of Farmersburg; stepgrandmother, Connie Zellers; nieces and nephews, Whitney Zellers, Carlee Zellers, Evan Hege-Caddell, Jaden Hege-Caddell, and several cousins; and special friend and caregiver, Donna Oglesby.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at Holmes Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Darren Sluder officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Oak Grove cemetery. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics or Happiness Bag Inc. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
