Darin L. Cress Darin L. Cress, a well geologist and resident of Canton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 15, 2018, at the age of 55, while on a job site in rural Pennsylvania. He suffered from a massive heart attack.
Darin is survived by his parents; his lovely wife of 32 years, Zelma; his children, Martin J. Munn (Jessica) and Lester J. Cress; his grandchildren, Christian Bradford and Kaylee Munn; his siblings, Dewayne Cress and Keri R. Graham (Michael); his father-in-law, Nick Heath; sister-in-law, Sophia Lopez (Ernest). He will be lovingly remembered by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Darin was born in Terre Haute, on Dec. 31, 1962, to Eric and Sharon Cress. His mother is now known as Sharon Jordan (David)
He served his country honorably with the Army National Guard. He graduated with honors from Rice Aviation College with an Associate Degree in Airframe and Powerplant License. He worked for Impact Exploration Services.
On Aug. 8, 1986, he married Zelma, a mother of one, in Lubbock, Texas. He welcomed his first son with a heart full of love by adopting him. During this time his second son was born. Darin was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He truly enjoyed his faithful companion, Maggie, and all animals. He also loved RC cars and being goofy. He was a problem solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and around the house. He will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at the Seelyville Firehouse, located at 2271 N. Main St., Terre Haute, IN 47803. Sharon Jordan will be performing the eulogy. Those who so desire may make memorial contributions to the Darin Cress Death Fund on GoFundMe.com
