On Nov. 3, 1974, in Vigo County, Dean and Debby Clingerman welcomed their son, Daniel Cass Clingerman, to this world. Dan gained his middle name from his father's father which was a real source of pride for him.

His career path afforded him the opportunity to work at Putnamville State Prison, Carlisle State Prison and for the past 12 ½ years he had been working as a correctional officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Terre Haute. He earned the respect of many while working at the prisons. Many of his colleagues became life-long friends.
Dan enjoyed spending time with his law enforcement counterparts in a motorcycle club called Shamrocks. He also was an avid Notre Dame and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He married Nicole Lively on Nov. 11, 2011. She brought two daughters, Madison and Olivia Slaughter into their relationship.
Dan was a brother to Deana Young and her husband Mick of Bloomington; and an uncle to Roxie, Tucker and Traeh. Dan also will be missed by his two beloved pets, Conor and Dudley.
Dan left this life unexpectedly on Nov. 9, 2017, at the age of 43.
