Charles "Chuck" David Lynch, 76, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 12:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Linton, on Feb. 27, 1941, the son of the late William Clifford Lynch and Eva Mae (Blough) Lynch.
Charles was a graduate of Linton High School in 1959. He was a man of many skills but most proud of his time as a master mechanic at Peabody Coal. He was a dedicated family man and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. Chuck would help anyone in need if he was able to and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Elsie (Hubbert) Lynch of Linton; son, David (fiancee, Nikki Rhoads) Lynch of Linton; daughter, Lori (Doug) Miller of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Matthew (Megan) Miller, Chelsea (Cody) Tilford, Chris Lynch and Emily (Seth) Wiram; stepgrandchildren, Jimmy Bernier, Molly (Seth) Maggard, Mark McGough, Michael McGough, Cody Rhoads, Nathaniel Rhoads and Adriana Rhoads; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; his sister, Connie (John) Dayhoff; his brother, John Lynch; sister-in-law, Betty (John) Gonzales; his mother-in-Law, Christine Hubbert; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded by his parents; his grandparents; brother, Paul "Bill" Lynch; and father-in-law, Reece Hubbert.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, with Pastor John Winders and the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, from 4 until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until services.
