Charlene Lucille Brown Highsmith Charlene Lucille Brown Highsmith, 88, of Plymouth, Minn., and formerly of Mooresville, Ind., passed away on Dec. 6, 2018. She was born in 1930, to Charles Joseph and Rose Farah Brown, in Harrisburg, Ill.
She grew up in Terre Haute, Ind., and graduated from Wiley High School in 1948. Charlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. In her early years, she was active in politics. Her favorite memory was meeting Senator John Kennedy (prior to announcing his candidacy for President). She married the love of her life, Tom Highsmith, in 1962. Tom and Charlene enjoyed bowling and dancing. Charlene worked at Cordage Paper Company as the operations manager until she retired in 1997. She was blessed to have a wonderful retirement for over 20 years. She loved being a grandmother, and her grandchildren brought her much happiness. She had fun working puzzles like crossword, word search and sudoku. She was an enthusiastic Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Purdue Boilermakers, and Indiana Hoosiers fan. Charlene was a member of Plainfield United Methodist Church.
Charlene is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Clark) Robideaux; grandchildren, Reid and Sara Robideaux; brother-in-law, Frank Nasser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and best friend, Mary Nasser; and her loving husband.
Services will be Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at Crown Hill Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. with the funeral immediately following.
