Carolyn Ann Wilson, 69, of Terre Haute, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, after a 30 year battle with cancer. Carolyn was born on Oct. 4, 1948, in Clinton, the daughter of Ralph and Martha Drake.
Carolyn worked in nursing her entire life, starting as a candy striper and going on to become an registered nurse and getting her master's degree. She worked in various fields of nursing and was known throughout the medical community as an exceptional nurse.
Although she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, she always maintained a positive attitude, was a faithful Christ follower and an inspiration to many. She especially enjoyed the time she got to spend with friends and family, often hosting holiday events and cooking extravagant meals. Despite her health condition, she lived a full and adventurous life, traveling with friends and visiting family as often as she could.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Martha Drake; and her brother, Henry Drake.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, William Wilson; two sons, Rick and Mark Baker and their wives Denise and Candy respectively; stepson, Bill Wilson; stepdaughter, Cary Burch; brothers, Ralph, Cecil, and Tim; sister, Sandy Areson; and five grandchildren, Stormi, Jake, Autumn, Dakotah, and Sam.
At Carolyn's request, she will be cremated with no immediate services. She requested a celebration of life which will be announced at a later date.
