Betty Jean Howard, 93, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, in her home. She retired as head of quality control from CBS with over 20 years of service. She was born March 31, 1924, in Terre Haute, to Homer Gott and Hazel Pace Gott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neoda Shea "Bill" Howard. Survivors include four children, Sharon Brossman and her husband Norman and Steve Howard and his wife Patty, both of Dennison, Ill., and Neoda "Butch" Howard and his wife Ursula of Terre Haute, and Dale Howard and his companion Diana Maples of West Terre Haute; a daughter-in-law, Karen Ramey of West Terre Haute; seven grandchildren, Lorri, Libby, Jason, Dwayne, Christine, Tommy, and Starla; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roland "Ron" Ramey; a daughter, Starr Howard; a grandson, James Robert Perry; and two brothers, Ivan and Ervin Streeter.
She enjoyed mushroom hunting, picking berries, camping, going to casinos, playing bingo, yard-selling, and going to the Covered Bridge Festival.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
