Ashton Brian Rowe, 16, of West Terre Haute, passed away Oct. 26, 2017. He was born May 31, 2001, in Springfield, Oregon, to Brian Rowe and Carrie (Stockton)Rowe.
Ashton attended West Vigo High School as a sophomore. He enjoyed the outdoors, collecting rare and unique stones and artifacts. He collected Pokeman, playing Minecraft, anything that had to do with electronics, chemistry, woodworking, crafts, cooking, and singing. Ashton could create anything from nothing, and also take anything apart to see how it worked and have the ability to put it back together. He was known to be very artistic. He enjoyed spending time with his dog Princess.
Ashton is survived by his parents, Brian and Carrie Rowe; sister, Rose Landaverde; adopted sister, Saku Shimada; grandparents, Grandma Rose Rooen, Grandma Chris Stockton, Grandma Linda Vankoughnet, and Douglas Rowe; great-grandparents, Ralph and Chris Imler; aunts and uncles, Robert Stockton, Stacy Warner, Jennifer May, Shannon Brandt, Nathan Rowen, Stephen Stockton, Jeffrey Stockton, Mary J Bradley, Brandon Rowe, Cory Hamilton, and Mike Randall; several cousins, and numerous other extended family members; special friends, Brandy Reed, Kala Reed, Evan Walton, Kaden Bissinger, and several others.
Ashton was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Stockton; and great-grandparents, Betty and Jack Rowe and Fred and Grace Vankoughnet. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at 6 p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Chris Wilbur will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 p.m. until service time. During visitation hours, the casket will be open from 3 until 5:15, and will be closed after. Cremation is scheduled after services. The family strongly suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice, preferably one that helps teens cope with bullying.
