Arlena Marguriete "Marge" Hojem, 89, of Dennison, Ill., passed away at 5:25 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, in Paris Healthcare Center at Paris, Ill. Marge retired as a group leader from Columbia Records at Terre Haute in 1993 after 35 years of service. She was born Oct. 31, 1927, in West Terre Haute, Ind., to Virgil Minnich and Gertrude Collins Minnich.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Diana Hojem of Dennison; two granddaughters, Michelle Cassagne and her husband Brice, and Christina Hollingsworth and her husband Larry, all of Dennison; four great-grandchildren, Chase and Kilee Hollingsworth, and Briley and Bricyn Cassagne, all of Dennsion; two sisters, Reba Davidson of Seattle, Wash., and Ruth Earls of Terre Haute; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Hojem, on Feb. 26, 2017; two daughters, Wanda Kay Hojem and Patricia "Patti" Hojem; five sisters, Maxine Bryan, Wilma Clark, Cleda Greenlee, and two infant sisters, Wanda and Clara Minnich; and two brothers, Vernon Minnich and Art Minnich.
Marge was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene at Terre Haute. She loved her Lord and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She also loved spending time in her flower gardens and with her dogs and cats.
A memorial service in her honor will be at 12:30 p.m. EDT Sunday, May 7, in the Southside Church of the Nazarene, 1901 S. Fourth St., Terre Haute. Burial of her ashes will be at a later date in Dunlap Cemetery at Dennison, Ill. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
