Agnes Rowena Puff, 92, of Lebanon and formerly of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at Zionsville Meadows. She was born on Jan. 17, 1925, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of the late Warner Lee and Berchie Helena (Pittenger) Woodburn.
Raised and educated in Terre Haute, she attended Gerstmeyer High School.
On Jan. 31, 1953, she was married to Robert Eugene "Gene" Puff in Brazil, Indiana. He passed away on March 7, 2010.
She was a longtime resident of Terre Haute until she and her late husband moved in 2008 to Lebanon. Agnes was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ in Terre Haute, where she enjoyed participating in the quilting club.
She was a homemaker and employed at Hulman and Co. prior to Woolworth and Co., where she was a sales clerk for over 30 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Skilled at crocheting, Aggie was champion of the Boone County Open Show sweepstakes three times.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Kay (Vincent L.) Hollingsworth of Lebanon; grandchildren, Kristin Nicole (Matthew) Wollak of Indianapolis and Steven Michael Hollingsworth of Davenport, Florida; great-grandchild, Kamila Marie Wollak; nephew, Donnie Puff of Center Point; and great nephew, Eric Puff.
In addition to her parents and husband, Agnes was preceded in death by two sisters, one in infancy, Betty Rose Woodburn, and Macil Madge Gemmecke; and a brother-in-law, William "Woody" Gemmecke.
Visitation is planned from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec 3, 2017, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St. in Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec 4, 2017, at St. Mark United Church of Christ, 475 Fruitridge Ave. in Terre Haute, with calling from noon until the time of service, with the Rev. Teresa Higus officiating. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley, Indiana.
